Detour AheadThis title will be supported by a national promotion campaign that will focus on reviews by media interested in issues relating to disablility and interviews with the author. While mountain hiking with friends on Norway's Mt. Tverrbottentind, the author was injured in a rock slide. During her rehabilitation and coming to terms with a disability not always visible to others, she has reflected upon her life. With a light pen and her own colourful illustrations, she has created this autobiography. The story is told in a non-linear fashion, shifting between social realism, fantasy, fable and predestination. It is written to help people prepare for lifešs detours large and small, to make sense of them and to grow with them. It is particularly pertinent for persons experiencing health loss, for their loved ones and for their helpers and all persons concerned with the ongoing formation of identity.
