Glen Margaret

Glen Margaret

Located on St. Margaret's Bay near Peggy's Cove in Nova Scotia, Glen Margaret is noted for its islands and sheltered coves. Most residents now commute to Halifax for employment, but previous generations made a living from a mixture of agriculture, fishing and tourism.

This book focuses on the prominent families of the past, many of them still represented within the community. It also lovingly describes aspects of community life, like the postal and telephone services, prohibition, growing up in the glen and the coming of electricity. Over a hundred early photographs help portray Glen Margaret's rich heritage.
